Allison and I graduated together from Syracuse University many moons ago. She and I hadn’t seen each other since said graduation. Allison now lives in Florida but was planning on being home in PA for a few days with her daughter Sutton. So, while she was visiting her family we scheduled a family portrait shoot (luckily) on a perfect spring afternoon. Allison’s parents and her nieces joined us as we spent the gorgeous afternoon at The Reading Public Museum walking, talking and picture taking all through the Arboretum. Thanks for inviting me out Allison. It was great seeing you again and an absolute pleasure meeting your family. Maybe next time Sean can join us too!

This one would normally be an outtake. But I loved the younger girls’ expressions too much not to include it!

Alison has some of the cutest expressions I think I’ve ever seen from a baby. It was a joy to photograph this baby along with her mom and dad the other week. I know that Alison’s dad (a NY Football Giants fan) was missing the divisional playoff game to have these photos done in Washington Crossing Park. Now that’s dedicated parenting right there folks! Thank you guys for spending the afternoon with me. Alison is a big time cutie and I look forward to our next session together this summer!

Ann Marie, Sean and mini-Sean

Ann Marie & Dawn work together as 8th grade reading teachers at a local middle school. So, when Ann Marie and her husband Sean were thinking of having some photos done of their young family they didn’t really have too far to look. I was happy that they asked me to come to their home and photograph baby Sean shortly after his first birthday. We spent a couple of hours together shooting in and around their home on a gorgeous spring evening. It was great to hang with Ann Marie and both Seans (big & miniature). Thanks for having me guys. I think this was Sean’s reaction to an airplane passing overhead.

A very inquisitive look for such a young man.

Dawn pointed out how Sean and Sean Jr. have the EXACT same expression in this photos. Ha! They do!

I normally don’t ask anyone to get naked on their shoot. But little Sean seemed like he would be cool with it. So off came the clothes.

And then we finished the evening off with a wagon ride up and down the street.

This one is my personal favorite of the day.

Roviellos, Richardsons & Famas!

This past weekend I was invited over to the home of Rick & Christine to photograph their family and grandson William. Rick & Christine’s daughter Cara had contacted me to shoot this family portrait session as a gift for her parents’ 60th birthday. In fact on Saturday, the day of the shoot, it actually WAS Christine’s birthday! What better way to spend a birthday than with all of your family hanging out, relaxing, spending time together and in the case of the Roviellos….cooking and eating! Thank you to Cara for having me out for the day. And thank you so much to the Roviellos, the Richardsons and the Famas for making my job so easy and enjoyable. I had a lot of fun with you all. Thank you for inviting me into your home and making me feel so welcome. I hope you enjoy these photos!

The birthday girl.

I had the privileged to document the making of a Roviello family traditional recipe for “Veal Birds”. Surprisingly there was lots of veal but no bird involved in the dish. I can actually almost taste these delicious treats when I look at this photo. So good!

The next item on the menu was Oregenata. Here Cara and her sister Tina are rolling out the dough for the Oregenata.

6 month old William soon took over the focus of the afternoon with his antics.

Avery’s 1st Birthday Photos!

Avery is 1! And what better to celebrate the milestones of life than with a portrait session? After all, I was there when Avery was just 2 weeks old, so why not be a part of her 52nd week on the planet as well?Avery’s parents Jess & Andrew (good friends of ours as well) invited me over this past weekend for some portraits to celebrate Avery’s first birthday. The adults had a chance to catch up, Avery got a new dress from Dawn and I and best of all, nobody cried! Happy birthday Avery. Congratulations. Let’s do it again next year, shall we?

Caden’s 1st week

Kate & Jon have been planning Caden’s first photo shoot long since Caden was out and about. He was born just last Wednesday. Kate had seen an image of a newborn in a football helmet on TV months and months ago. She showed me the photo that was saved on her DVR well before Caden was born so that we could get an idea of what she wanted for his first photo. Luckily for us all, Caden was able to fit a very quick photo shoot into his feeding and sleeping schedule yesterday afternoon.

We placed (the very well behaved) Caden gently into his dad's old Ursinus College football Helmet and shot very cautiously and quickly. You never know how much time a newborn is willing to give before a crying fit! Kate & Jon, I hope you guys like the helmet photo. Congratulations on the tiny new addition to your family. Introducing Baby Avery

I spent yesterday afternoon with two lovely ladies; my good friend Jess and her brand new baby daughter Avery Maia.  Avery was born just over 2 weeks ago.  Yesterday was her coming out party!
Congratulations to Avery’s proud parents Jess & Andrew Surden.  Thank you Avery & Jess for spending the afternoon with me.  I hope that we can do it again soon.
A fresh diaper and a wardrobe change and Avery was ready for her close-up.



Jess and I traded for a minute.  Jess took my camera and I took Avery.  Jess proceeded to snap one of the best photos of the day!


Avery has a fuller closet than me…and she’s only 2 weeks old!  Of course I don’t poop in my pants (that often) so, I guess I can get away with a few select outfits.









We got a smirk out of Avery just before I took off.  She was probably glad that I was packing up to go!
