Beth & Nick | Trust Gallery Wedding Photos

October 1 of 2011 fell on a gorgeous autumn day here in Philadelphia. Beth & Nick were celebrating their wedding day with a ceremony at St. John the Evangelist in Center City followed by a reception in Old City at TRUST. I was happy to have Vida Carson join me again for the day and while she started at Le Meridian with Nick and the guys I met up with Beth and the ladies as they prepared for the day at The Ritz Carlton. After the ceremony we headed to old city for wedding party photos before making our way back to TRUST for the cocktail hour next door in the courtyard of Betsy Ross’ house.
Beth & Nick’s reception was one for the record books. Jellyroll had this crowd hopping from the very first note and the party just got crazier and crazier with props from the photo booth making their way onto the dance floor as Beth, Nick and all of their family and friends brought the house down.
Beth & Nick, I really can’t thank you both enough for allowing me to share in your wedding day. Beth you were such a gorgeous bride and Nick, the white dinner jacket was one of my favorite accessories all year! Congratulations you guys. Enjoy your photos.

San Francisco Trip – Thanksgiving 2011

Just before Thanksgiving Dawn, Max, Gammy and I took off for a vacation in San Francisco. Jay & Amy were heading out of the country for a bit and needed some cat sitters for their babies Monte and Dracula.

This was my home on and off between 1997 and 2006 so I always enjoy getting back there to see friends and spend time in and around the Bay Area.

Cescaphe Ballroom Wedding | Janine & Andrew

Janine & Andrew had a classic Philadelphia wedding this fall. Their wedding day fell on one of those perfect warm autumn days which made for a beautiful backdrop in Old City. Vida and I started off at the Sheraton Society Hill where Janine and Andrew were getting ready for their big day. After everyone was dressed and ready we headed out into the streets of Old City for Janine & Andrew’s first meet followed by some wedding party photos before heading to Old St. Joseph’s Church and the wedding ceremony. Cescaphe Ballroom in Northern Liberties was the site of the wedding reception where the Don Eaton Band kept up a raucous party.

Janne & Andrew along with their wedding planner Kelsey Gilland of A Little Soireé put together an amazing day which was a joy to be a part of and very fun to photograph. Some of the other wedding professionals who helped make Janine & Andrew’s day unforgettable were Jill Perocca who made all the ladies’ heads look top notch with her hair styling, Kristen Stengel who took care of the makeup and Il Fiore Bianco who did an incredible job with all of the floral arrangements.

Congratulations once again to you Janine & Andrew. It was such an honor to share in your wedding day with you and your families. Your day couldn’t have turned out any better. All the best to you both for a wonderful marriage and a happy life together.

New Jersey Wedding Photos | Kristen & Tim

Kristen and Tim were married at the end of September. Their ceremony was held in the beautiful Peapack Reform Church in Gladstone, New Jersey. After the ceremony and some bridal photos at a local park we all headed to the Hamilton Park Hotel where the Urban Guerrilla Orchestra kept up a rocking party for the reception.

Kristen & Tim are just so laid back and fun to be around. And the fact that they were simply happy to be with each other and happy to be getting married made my job of capturing their enthusiasm and joy that much easier. Congratulations Kristen & Tim. Enjoy your photos!

Doylestown Engagement Photos | Liz & Matt

Liz & Matt live in Chicago but they are holding their wedding here in Center City Philadelphia at The Union League. They were in town over Christmas week so we met up in downtown Doyletsown for their engagement session. We immediately clicked and had a great time together joking and laughing a lot. These two are definitely a unique couple who enjoy being a bit quirky and different. Just check out how Matt proposed to Liz in this video.

In between the laughs we shot some beautiful engagement photos along with some more goofy pics as well. As I said, we were joking around quite a bit.These type of relaxed engagement sessions are some of my favorite to shoot. We take our time talking, walking and shooting and have the chance to get to know each other a bit before the big day. And 65º days at the end of December make this very easy and enjoyable.

Congratulations Liz and Matt. I had a great time with you two the other week. I am very much looking forward to seeing you again this spring!

Willow Grove Family Photographer

Almost four years ago I had the pleasure of being the videographer for Barb & Mark on their wedding day. They had a beautiful late November wedding at The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Center City Philadelphia with a reception at the Cescaphe Ballroom in Northern Liberties. Barb & Mark called me a few weeks ago to photograph their family while they were all in town over the Christmas weekend. With video editing I get to feel as though I know each person in the wedding video very well having seen them over and over and over some more during the course of the edit. So, meeting up with Barb, Mark (who, by the way are expecting) and their family was like getting together with good friends…..not to mention the fact that Barb, Mark and I totally hit it off right from our first meeting over three years ago. You guys are the best! Thank you for thinking of me for your family portraits. It was absolutely my pleasure to see everyone again and spend the afternoon with you all. And Mark you definitely do make some top notch nog!

Max at 7 Months

I recently did a newborn photo session and when I came home I was inspired to take some photos of our own little guy, Max. He’s almost 7 months old now and just (like 2 minutes ago) started crawling. Well it was more like scooting…..and it was backwards. But the boy is now mobile! Our cats better start running….at least Pomes might loose some weight.

Willow Grove Newborn Photography

Samuel is new around here. He was born just before Christmas. Sam’s mom Kate is actually our son Max’s pediatrician. She has been so kind and helpful towards Dawn and I as we learn the ropes of being new parents. From our very first visit to her office several months ago Kate, set Dawn and I at ease and made us feel very comfortable. We are lucky to have found such a caring and patient doctor to look after our little guy and to take the time to answer any and all of our “new parent” questions.

One recent morning I photographed Kate and her husband Randy’s new (and adorable) baby boy Samuel along with his big sister who was super excited to have her photo taken. These are a few of my favorite images from that shoot. Welcome to the world Samuel!

Fairmount Park Engagement Photos | Brooke & Chris

Brooke and Chris will be getting married this March in New Jersey. We met at Pennypack Park in Philadelphia for their engagement photos a few weeks ago. After a bit of searching for some autumn color we found what seemed like an entire forest of yellow and orange. This led to some of my favorite engagement photos of the season. Congratulations Brooke and Chris. Only about 3 short months until the main event! I look forward to seeing you both again on your wedding day.

Frances & Jonathan | Surprise engagement session in Philadelphia

Jonathan proposed to Frances in the shadows of Philadelphia’s City Hall. They were out walking their dog Sylar when Jonathan dropped to one knee (at a predetermined location that was discussed by Jonathan and I). Frances was surprised, she said yes and then we popped out of the shadows to congratulate the newly engaged couple. Jonathan then told Frances that not only had we stealth photographed the proposal but he had also organized a surprise engagement session to take place that very night in Center City Philadelphia.
We started with some very casual shots at the Marriott Residence Inn, headed out onto Broad Street for some City Hall photos and headed back inside for a change of outfits as we finished up the engagement session with a more formal and elegant feel.

Congratulations Frances & Jonathan. Thank you for sharing such a momentous moment in both your lives with me.
